MEETING THE CHALLENGE:
To prepare California’s nursing workforce and academic institutions over the past month, HealthImpact convened workgroups of subject matter experts to help guide the nursing profession on aspects of the Governor’s Executive Order and direction to increase the workforce.
These documents are intended to help academic institutions, clinical agencies, clinicians, and students prepare for or respond to different phases of the COVID-19 pandemic. Toolkits and guidance documents created by a coalition of academic, clinical practice, workforce, and student leaders are color coded based on the California Department of Public Health California SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic Crisis Care Guidelines and on when each document should be considered during the different phases of the COVID-19 pandemic.
HealthImpact and the coalition of subject matter experts intended on creating these documents as guidelines and recommendations and are not requirements for any single individual or institution to follow. Local policies should be followed. However, these documents may be used to initiate discussion and explore new ideas and possibilities in this pandemic.
