Greater Bay Area Academic-Practice Consortium

A Catalyst for Healthcare Excellence

The healthcare landscape continues to rapidly evolve, and it is essential to foster a collaborative environment where dedicated healthcare professionals can come together to exchange ideas, gain knowledge, and forge new relationships. The Greater Bay Area Academic-Practice Consortium (GBAAPC) is a partnership designed to provide a stage for regional healthcare professionals to unite, promote best practices, and explore new frontiers in nursing. First established in 2005, the GBAAPC includes organizations from the following counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Napa, Santa Clara, Alameda, Monterey, Contra Costa, and Marin. To date, GBAAPC has 116 members. 70 are from Academia and 46 are employed in Clinical Practice.

The GBAAPC creates a forum for professionals from various backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue about local, regional, and state workforce industry needs and requirements. Established professionals offer guidance and expertise to emerging leaders, helping them navigate the complexities of their roles and strengthen individual skills. Additionally, GBAAPC supports clinical placements through use of the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) for most institutions participating in the GBAAPC.

The GBAAPC is a pioneering initiative encouraging positive collaboration among nursing educators and thought leaders to drive meaningful change in the healthcare sphere. Team members have developed groundbreaking educational programs and worked to inform policy decisions that support the delivery of high-quality patient care. The consortium invites all to join and contribute to a brighter future for patients, families, and each other.
