Academic administrators, faculty, clinical practice partners, workforce, and professional nursing leaders came together to create suggested resource and guidance documents for the academic community. These resources are intended to provide suggested guidance to academic leaders and faculty to stimulate discussions and creativity in the following areas:
- Understanding the various aspects of clinical experiences in conventional and crisis situations,
- Creating opportunities to grant academic credit for educational and experiential learning in crisis situations,
- Providing a template for documenting clinical experiences, and
- Listing alternative care sites.
Administrators, faculty, and students should be aware of individual academic institutions’ policies on clinical experiences and granting academic credit. Please refer to faculty and student handbooks in local academic institutions for more guidance.
