We have received a new board opportunity, and are requesting your recommendations to offer the best candidate(s) in support of our mission to improve the health of communities and the nation through the service of nurses on boards.

Organization Mission: Improving health globally by empowering nurses working in low-income countries.
What type of organization is the recruiting organization? nonprofit
Level of experience desired of nurse candidate: experience preferred, but enthusiasm for our mission is a must.
Desired area of health care specialty: All health care specialties are welcome; experience in low-income countries is a plus.
Desired specific areas of governance expertise of nurse candidate:

  • Quality Assurance

Other selection criteria: Nursing for All (NFA) offers programming in family planning, mental healthcare, HTN and DM management, and more. We will be most interested in an NP or CNS who has experience in low-income settings. NFA is hoping the selected candidate will eventually transition to a leadership role on the Board (ideally next year; this is a priority for us), the initial appointment would be as a Director only, with the expectation that they serve on one subcommittee.

Are there any residency requirements? no residency requirement, but applicants must be able to attend quarterly meetings in NYC.
Does the position have membership requirements for the nurse candidate? no
When would the appointment begin? 09/01/2020
Number and location of meetings annually: Quarterly meetings in NYC, quarterly subcommittee meetings as well (location, mode, and time varies for each committee).
Is there an expected financial contribution from board members?  Nursing for All does not require a specific dollar amount contribution, but expects to be among the top three organizations supported by its board members (ie: board directors are expected to give as much to NFA as they give to their other top two).
Do board members receive any remuneration for service? no
Nomination deadline for this position? 08/11/2020
What is the approval / vetting process? Candidates will be contacted for screening interview with current Board President; further interviews will then be scheduled with current subcommittee Chairs.
