The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, together with the California Action Coalition, HealthImpact, and the California Directors of Public Health Nursing, invite you to A Symposium between Academia & Practice: Preparing the Future Public Health Nursing Workforce.

Purpose: Promoting a culture of health throughout California through innovative preparation of the future public health nursing workforce

Public health nurses play a critical role in building a culture of health throughout California.  Their potential to impact the overall health of communities through effective systems and population health strategies is significant.  Schools of nursing provide the education and preparation to help shape the future public health nursing workforce to function in this important role. This symposium will connect nursing academia and practice to learn from and share with one another innovative approaches to prepare the future public health nursing workforce.

Schools of nursing with public health nursing curriculum, local public health departments, community-based and other organizations involved in preparing the future public health nursing workforce.
